Celebrate rural with National Rural Health Day activities
The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) selected tomorrow, Nov. 15, as a day to celebrate the year’s accomplishments in rural health care. The National Rural Health Association joins NOSORH in recognizing those who have dedicated their time and resources to ensuring accessible, quality care for the nearly 62 million people who call rural America home. NRHA staff are presenting at events across the country on successes with and issues facing rural health. We hope to see you at conferences in California, Florida, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia and others. And if you can’t attend a National Rural Health Day event, make time for a free webinar with HRSA’s Mary Wakefield, Tom Morris and other rural health leaders and experts. Details and registration information are available here. And read about rural health success stories worth celebrating in the latest edition of NRHA’s Rural Roads magazine. This issue features
- a free program delivering preventative care to farmers
- a moving story of how one immigrant became a community health worker and now helps recruit and train others along the border
- Indian Health Service practitioners with diverse backgrounds relating to rural patients
- and much more.
