McCarthy withdraws from speaker election
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has withdrawn from the race for speaker of the House of Representatives. The election has been postponed. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) will continue to serve in the position until the House elects a new speaker. Rep. Boehner announced in September that he will resign from Congress at the end of this month.
