NRHA Participates in Regulatory Reform Listening Session with CMS Administrator Seema Verma
NRHA met with CMS Administrator Seema Verma and other stakeholders to discuss the important work of reducing regulatory reform. The listening session, entitled “Patients Over Paperwork,” gave us the opportunity to explain to Administrator Verma the ways in which rural hospitals and providers have been harmed by unnecessary and burdensome regulations. NRHA and other attendees discussed specific examples CMS regulations negatively impacting patient care and offered recommendations on guiding principles that CMS should follow as the agency reviews its regulations for burden reduction.
We were excited to have the chance to speak with Ms. Verma, and to submit additional comments after the meeting. We look forward to continuing with CMS on this important initiative.
