NRHA Announces Partnership with United States Department of Agriculture
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) today announced that it will partner with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to support capacity building for rural health facilities.
Through this partnership, NRHA and USDA will provide technical assistance to selected rural hospitals under USDA Rural Development’s umbrella. This vital technical assistance will support the maintenance of quality health care services in rural America.
An Advisory Committee will provide expertise and guidance to help inform future assistance and best practices. As rural hospitals oftentimes serve as the main economic drivers in rural communities, this effort to sustain and strengthen rural healthcare delivery is critically important.
“As the voice for rural America, the NRHA is pleased to be spearheading efforts with USDA to support rural hospitals” said Alan Morgan, NRHA chief executive officer. “USDA is a key partner in the drive to help strengthen rural hospitals. USDA has a longstanding commitment to improving health care access for rural populations through facilitating and fostering collaborations, raising awareness, and supporting solutions.”
“NRHA looks forward to leveraging our national and grassroots experts as we launch this partnership to continue to further develop and deliver rural hospital technical assistance,” Morgan said.

This year-long partnership will highlight technical assistance activities that most benefit rural hospitals and result in generating best practice solutions for informing future collaborations.
