Congress Passes 2018 Farm Bill
Earlier this week, we shared with our members that the Conference Committee on the 2018 Farm Bill had finally concluded. The final report produced by the Conference Committe included key provisions to ensure the financial viability of rural hospitals, expand deployment of telemedicine, and improve access to mental health services.
On Tuesday, the Senate voted in support of the Conference Committee's report, and just last night, the House voted in support of the report as well. The Farm Bill will now be sent to the President's desk for a signature, which is expected soon.
We thank the many rural advocates who helped to ensure that key rural health provisions were included in this importatn legislation. For our full rural analysis of the legislation, visit our previous blog post on the issue here.
