NRHA COVID-19 response and event updates
NRHA staff are equipped to provide continuity of service throughout this period. We will continue to provide education, advocacy, and communications to ensure your rural community has the knowledge and resources to fight this pandemic.
NRHA’s 43rd Annual Rural Health Conference, the nation’s largest gathering of rural health professionals, will be held as scheduled May 19-22 in scenic San Diego – but NRHA is offering a no-risk registration policy for the Annual Conference, Rural Hospital Innovation Summit, Health Equity Conference, and Rural Medical Education Conference.
The Sheraton Hotel San Diego Marina takes standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and has taken additional steps to ensure the safety of guests in response to COVID-19. The venue has prominently displayed signs designating it a contact-free environment, with hand-hygiene stations at the entrance of every room.
Our conference hotel and many others are allowing fee-free cancellations within 72 hours of your arrival. Many airlines are also waiving cancellation and change fees for flights booked by March 31.
In the unlikely event of cancellation, attendees will be notified of all available options.
NRHA urges members to stay vigilant and follow all scientifically backed recommendations. We will do everything we can to provide the best environment at our San Diego events so you can put your mind at ease and focus on getting the most out of your conference experience.
We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation and share essential information with our members as it becomes available. NRHA has recently published resources for COVID-19 response.
The show will go on, so we hope you’ll join us to chart a course to calmer seas and bump elbows with rural health stars.
Be sure to act early to save hundreds on registration, airfare, and accommodations, and review special event and travel policies related to COVID-19. And don’t forget to tell the hotel you're with NRHA to get the best rates.
